Yellowstone in Autumn

We have had a whirlwind weekend. Friday I took the kids out of school early and drove to Star Valley for a big Edwards birthday bash! It was a great time. Don and Amy have 3 kids birthdays in Oct. and Nov. so they threw one big family party. The place they held it was a party type center that had several rooms, a big tv, foosball and air hockey, a big kitchen, and my favorite, a racquetball/wallyball court. We had an intense wallyball game men vs. women. I think we won but I don't care cause it was a blast! Thanks for inviting us Ed's!

I drove home that night because Mark and I had plans to leave for Yellowstone in the morning. We got out a little after 8 and spent the entire day in Yellowstone. I love that place! This trip we tried to do the northern loop. I hadn't ever been that way and there were lots of fun things to see. I really liked the town of Mammoth Springs. If you haven't been there before, there are elk everywhere ambling through town and eating grass off of the lawns. Mark's heart stopped beating when he spied some big bull elk in town. I haven't seen him that excited for awhile! :) On the way home we saw a herd of at least 120 elk and I swear we had to stop and look at them for 2 hours. :) Some of the other places we enjoyed were the artist paint pots, tower falls, mammoth springs, and the calcite springs. Thank you Sara for the pass this year. We have had great fun with it! We ate at West Yellowstone, MT last night and got home at about 11. I am wiped out but it's been a great few days.
