Crazy Hair Day is a big deal at my kids elementary school. We had a fun time with it early this morning. Kate had to turn sideways to get through some doors.

Whoa! Slow down Kay.....

I know. Several posts in a row after months of no posting. I am just excited about a lot of things right now. Maybe I have spring fever. Nah, spring has definitely not come to Idaho.
I secretly love the Duggar family! There, I said it. I religiously watch their show on TLC (my favorite channel "18 Kids and Counting". I love their conservative values, old fashioned manners, amazing organizational skills, and money saving tips.Their kids even go courting and don't kiss their spouse until their wedding day. (and people think Mormons are conservative :)I wouldn't stay sane with 18 kids(four is mightily pushing it) but they seem to do better than most.
One thing I am trying from their book is making homemade cleaners. Yesterday I made glass cleaner. It was so easy and I figure it costed me .05 if that. Plus, it's made with natural stuff so that has to be good, right? It worked pretty dang well.
Homemade Window Cleaner
3T Ammonia
1T vinegar
Put in spray bottle and fill the rest of the way up with water.
I also made a paste of vinegar and baking soda (Zachy loved to watch it fizz)and cleaned the tub with it this morning. That tub is sparkling!
I plan to make homemade laundry soap next. I am pretty picky about the smell of laundry soap (I love Tide w/Fabreeze Spring and Renewal) so it may be more of an experiment and a lesson in self reliance. :) I will post more recipes for natural cleaners soon.
Any other Duggar fans out there?

Free PARENTS magazine

I receive a ridiculous amount of magazines each month. There are a lot of free offers out there if you are looking. A few tips are when signing up for these offers is never give your credit card # for offers. Just sign up for complimentary, no strings attached offers and what I recommend is to sign up for a free email address just for freebies etc. because sometimes the company will send a lot of spam in the future.
PARENTS
*I can't remember what blog I saw this offer on but if anyone knows I would love to give credit. Thanks!

Gotta love freebies

Click here to get a coupon for a FREE Quizno's sub.
Free Redbox code for this Monday ONLY is S39XKT
I have recently used DVDONME and BREAKROOM for free movies too. If you haven't checked out redbox you just HAVE TO! I love it. You rent a movie from a vending machine.(if you aren't using a free code you can reserve the movie you want online) Go to redbox.com for locations near you. They charge you 1.00 a day for renting it and have lots of free codes so if you keep it for just 1 day it's free. I LOVE it!
Another source for freebies is Walmart.com. They have samples you can order and they always come quickly. It's fun to get something free in the mail once in awhile.

"Our California Adventure" days 2-3

At this pace it will take me a month to describe our trip. :) On Tuesday we got up really early again and drove the 6 miles to the Wonderful World of Disney. We were just ahead of the crowds again and the kids were able to run onto Space Mountain without waiting several times. We rode the rides in Tomorrowland and then literally ran to Frontierland. Well, in the meantime I had to change Zachy. I was going so fast I didn't realize until about an hour later that my camera was missing. I was so sick about it. Mark, to his credit, was really sweet. Brynn had her camera so I stole it but she wanted it most of the time so sadly, I have less pictures that I wanted. We were able to ride all of the rides we wanted to that day and then we got in place to wait for the Fantasmic show. Our little book told us the best place to stand. (on the bridge in New Orleans square)
It was a great show and then we took our exhausted little selves back to our hotel. I swear the kids enjoyed swimming in the pool more than anything. Mark and I also enjoyed soaking our sore feet. We sure moved fast around that park for two out of shape people.:)
Wednesday we went to Universal Studios. I didn't really have any expectations of this park but it was fun because I had never been there. That place was EMPTY! I think we got approached by every park employee because there was hardly anyone else there. Zachy enjoyed seeing Dora and Spongebob. Mark started off the day scaring the big kids to death by taking them through the House of Horrors, their version of a haunted house. Several teenage girls would only go through with Mark and the kids and Mark said they all moved in a bunch.Mark said he almost lost his shirt. lol Ryan is still having nightmares about Chucky. :)
This park was hard for Zachy and I was STILL motion sick from stupid Space Mountain the day before so Zachy played in the water park and Mark took the kids on bunches of rides. We all enjoyed the Shrek 4-D movie. I don't really like 4-D. It meant we were going to get sprayed with water at some point. My favorite part of the day was the 45 minute tour of the studios. That was fascinating to me. You ride around in a bus and it takes you through actual movie studios, through famous movie sets. We even got to see Wisteria Lane from Desperate Housewives. They were filming at the time but we didn't see ladies from the show.We took in a cool Waterworld show and then called it a day. That night we got room service by the pool while the kids were swimming. That was fun.
Up next- Sea World and our last day in Disney
